In groups of 3-4, watch the YouTube video below and begin learning the choreography. Let Mrs. Arrowood know when your group is finished. YouTube Video: Online Dance Class - Beginner Contemporary - "Skinny Love" Directions:
You will need a partner to videotape you performing each dance with the music either on a phone or on the iPad. When you are finished with your video, you will upload your video to a shared folder on my Google Drive. Follow the instructions below on how to upload your video. Make sure you upload your video to the corresponding folder. You need to name your file with the following format: "firstname_lastname". Do not add any additional punctuation or else your file will not work. HERE is the link to access your music. DANCE 3: Click HERE to upload your choreography video. Your Dance Class Syllabus will be given to you on the first day of school. If you need another copy, you can download it from my Class Materials page. The last page of your syllabus needs to be signed by you and your parent and returned to me on Monday, August 24th. See you all tomorrow!! :-) All of Mrs. Arrowood's dance classes have been invited to attend a special performance about Cherokee culture on Monday, May 11th. Field trip forms and additional information will be going out later this week. For more information on who we are going to see perform, check out the information below. LEAF Schools & Streets presents Cherokee Warriors of AniKituhwa at the Orange PeelThe Warriors of AniKituhwa will share the rich and moving history of Cherokee dance, language and dress through their one hour performance. The Warriors of AniKituhwa have been recreating and persevering Cherokee dance since 2003 based on descriptions preserved in a 1762 manuscript. Named official ambassadors of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians by the Tribal Council, these talented dancers have been sharing the dance, history and culture of the Cherokee throughout the southeast. LEAF Schools & Streets is delighted to share this wonderful opportunity to learn about Native American culture of Western North Carolina to the community. LEAF Schools & Streets has created curriculum for middle and high school teachers to supplement this “Informance” in order to make it an enriching experience for all of those involved! The curriculum is aligned with the North Carolina Common Core and Essential Standards for Education. Please visit http://www.theleaf.org/programs-events/ to access the curriculum. We will be having a picnic lunch in the courtyard in front of the Asheville Courthouse. Students will need to bring $10.00 to Mrs. Arrowood to pay for their lunch.
